To commemorate the first anniversary of the passing of Western-style painter Koji Kinutani in August 2025, the Koji Kinutani Tenku Art Museum will present an exhibition titled “Koji Kinutani – Message to the Next Generation.”
This exhibition explores the thoughts and wishes that Koji Kinutani embedded in his works, together with the words he left behind. In his collection of paintings and essays, “The Path of the Wind, The Path of the Buddha” (2003), Kinutani wrote:
“Someday my physical body will perish, and even the image of my existence will fade away. Yet perhaps my spirit, imprinted on the wall, may remain.”
These words express a profound desire to entrust the spirit and prayers embodied in his works to the future. Through this exhibition, we invite visitors to experience Koji Kinutani’s works and words as expressions of a message to the next generation.
